Anastasia: One of the many creative pieces to come from the rumor that Anastasia Romonov, the youngest daughter of Tzar Nicholas II of Russia, escaped the execution of the royal family, Marcelle Maurette's play is set in Berlin in 1926. A young suicidal woman is taken by a group of Russian exiles who have her pose as the lost princess in order to collect a reward from the Bank of England. As the con progresses, however, her captors start to suspect she may in fact be the real heir to the throne
