Auntie Mame: Jerome Lawrence and Robert Edwin Lee's play, created from Patrick Denning's novel of the same name, tells the story of eccentric bohemian Mame Dennis from the eyes of her young nephew and ward Patrick Dennis. As Patrick grows up, his aunt works to make sure he does not become the stuffy and prejudiced society gentleman that Dwight Babcock, executer of Patrick's late father's will, intends. With dramatic flair and a knack for instigating adventures, Mame and Patrick make it through the Great Depression to learn of love, tolerance and finding joy in life, no matter the hardships.
