Based on the beloved 2003 Pixar movie of the same name, Finding Nemo JR. is an abridged one act stage musical adaptation of the original film’s story for junior ensembles! The staged retelling of the heartwarming undersea tale follows Marlin, the anxious and mollycoddling clownfish, and his young son, Nemo. The pair live in a sea anemone in the Great Barrier Reef, and while Marlin wishes to protect his son from the potential dangers outside their home, Nemo yearns to see the world great blue world beyond. When Nemo is suddenly captured by a scuba diver, Marlin must overcome his anxieties and fears as he embarks on a perilous journey across the ocean to find his son. With the support of Dory, the loquacious and upbeat blue tang, Crush, the easygoing sea turtle, and the Tank Gang, the father and son duo are both able to overcome all obstacles and beat all odds on their quests to reunite. Finding Nemo JR. imparts important and timeless messages of self-discovery, as well as overcoming obstacles and disabilities to youth ensembles through its heart-warming story, songs, and characters.
