When Newton Fuller decides to fulfill a lifelong dream and move into a historical countryside home, he gets much more than he bargained for. With a cow in the kitchen, falling plaster, and broken windows, his wife, Annabelle is disgusted by “country-life.” Meanwhile, Madge, his daughter, attempts to elope with a summer stock theatre actor. To cap it all, a local historian informs him that it was actually Benedict Arnold, not George Washington, who slept in their home.
