Footloose: Adapted to the stage from the 1984 film of the same name, this high energy, 1980's style musical follows city kid Ren McCormack after he moves with his mother Ethel to Bomont, a small western town where dancing, Ren's primary outlet, has been outlawed by the reigning town authority, conservative Reverend Shaw Moore. Slowly, Ren falls in love with the reverend's spirited daughter, Ariel Moore, and together with the support of their friends, slow-witted Willard Hewitt and precocious Rusty, they force Bomont to face its past tragedies and rebuild its community. Music primarily by Tom Snow, lyrics by Dean Pitchford and Kenny Loggins and book by Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobby.
