Robin Oakapple is in love with the virtuous, poverty-stricken maiden, Rose, but his foster-brother reveals that Robin’s true identity is Sir Ruthven Murgatroyd, the accursed lord of Ruddigore. Each lord must do one crime a day or die. Ashamed and guilty, Ruthven must find a way to break the curse and reunite with his true love.
