West Wide Story: Arthur Laurents, Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim's musical adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, follows two 1950's New York City street gangs, the American Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks, and the two young people who dared to fall in love across the increasingly violent rivalry.
