Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, the Musical: Based on Roald Dahl's now classic Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, this musical adaptation by Leslie Bricusse and Tim McDonald features music and lyrics by Anthony Newley. The eccentric Willy Wonka, owner of a world famous and mysterious chocolate factory, is looking for an heir. He hides five golden tickets in his merchandise and invites the five kids who find them to tour the factory. The magical tour tests each candidate's morals and true character: greedy Augustus Gloop, selfish Violet Beauregard, obsessive Mike Teavee, spoiled and demanding Veruca Salt and honest Charlie Bucket.
