Aria Da Capo

Aria Da Capo: Edna St. Vincent Millay's 1920, one-act, Commedia Del'Arte inspired play provides a commentary on the upper class's indifference to the brutal effects of war on the lower classes. The stock characters Pierrot and Columbine perform a formal dinner scene until they are kicked off the stage by Cothurnus, Thyrsis and Corydon. Cothurnus directs a small play with his friends in which two shepherds build a wall between their pastures and end up slaughtering each other.
