Blithe Spirit

Blithe Spirit: Noel Coward's 1941 comedic play set a new record in London when it opened. Adapted as a musical, for television, radio and film, the play has become a classic for civic groups across the United States. Novelist Charles Condomine invites eccentric medium Madame Arcati to his house for a séance in an attempt to gather material for his next book. Instead of inspiration, Charles ends up haunted by his first wife, Elvira, who, unseen and unheard by Charles' current wife Ruth, attempts to destroy their marriage. Elvira sabotages the car to try and kill Charles so that he will join her in the spirit world. When her plan goes awry and Ruth ends up as a ghost in the house as well, Charles ends up stuck in the middle of the two women''s battle with each other.
