Brighton Beach Memoirs

Brighton Beach Memoirs The first of Neil Simon's semi-autobiographical “Eugene Trilogy,” this touching and comedic coming of age story is narrated by it's main character, Polish-American teenager Eugene Morris Jerome. It is 1937 and Eugene must navigate a tumultuous if tight-knit family. His mother Kate's sister Blanche and her two daughters Nora and Laurie have been living with the family for years since Blanche's husband died. Eugene's father, Jack, faces hard times at work and suffers a heart attack while their eldest son Stanley can't seem to avoid trouble at work. Looming over their day to day troubles and arguments is the coming world war.
